Raising children is a challenge! Maybe that's why so many books and articles have been written on this subject. The classic, Children the Challenge by Rudolph Dreikurs enabled me to develop a positive approach to discipline and Dr. Helen DeRosis work, Parent Power, Child Power helped me grow in my mothering role. I encourage all parents to read and glean insight from professionals as well as one another. Sharing with other parents often helps one see something from another perspective and can help us better understand ourselves.

Part of being both a parent and a writer is learning from experience and capturing it on paper--thoughts, joys, struggles, and frustrations. It is therapeutic, if not instructive.
