As part of our commitment to expectant and new parents, Barefoot Baby hosts Saturday Seminars and special events for families. Since we are a 'destination shop', we provide services for mothers all across the Eastern Shore of Maryland and Virginia. What is a Saturday Seminar? During specified months, a relevant parenting topic is explored, taught by professionals in their field of expertise. Moms & dads are invited to come with questions in hand. Pre-registering is encouraged but if you are able to break away even if you haven't registered, just call to see if there is room in the class. Feel free to bring baby too! (Classes will be re-scheduled if there are not enough pre-registrations for the date a class is scheduled.) Stay tuned for information about future events. Transition to motherhood can often be stressful so we have partnered with Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury to offer Postpartum Support Groups. Call for information on times and locations. Find an extensive network of resources through Postpartum Support International (PSI).Visit www.postpartum.net to learn about the PSI sponsored warmline and Chat Sessions with professionals. We've also collaborated with a fitness trainer to offer MommyWalk- a fun way to workout with your baby. All you need is a stroller! Call BBB to register. This class will cover five specific techniques demonstrated by renowned pediatrician Dr. Harvey Karp. Come learn how to induce the calming reflex and find out how to produce a contented, happy baby.
